With a piano and a video recorder, Colton Jacobson quickly found his audience when he introduced himself via YouTube with his amazing home videos. With over 6 Million YouTube views to date, he has become one of YouTube’s most promising young artists. The singer has gained over 36k Facebook fans and 213k Twitter followers, building a foundation of fans that are truly inspired by his music.
Colton Jacobson is using his music and his new single “Unstoppable” to speak to the youth today. The singer is a spokesperson for PACER, The National Bullying Prevention Center to help bring awareness to bullying. A role he takes very seriously because he has been bullied.
He’s been a student of Dallas-based vocal coach Linda Septien, who also coached the likes of Selena Gomez and Jessica Simpson. Colton’s father, who is also his manager, helped find a collection of age appropriate songs that explore messages of self-empowerment and young love. Unstoppable was released on their own Notloc Records label.
“We’re not banking on him becoming a superstar and making a lot of money,” Colton’s dad told The Dallas Morning News. “We are trying to make sure that school is the number one priority. But we still want him to reach his dream. The most difficult part is keeping bad people away. That is my role. In the last six months, we have driven four to six people away who are just trying to make a quick buck.”

In addition to multiple TV and radio appearances Colton appeared at the 2013 Gibson NAMM JAM Sessions during NAMM 2013, sharing the stage with celebrities such as Tommy Thayer of KISS, Earl Slick, and actor Eddie Cahill, CSI-NY. You will find him performing at the House of Blues in Dallas, TX, Palladium Ballroom, Hard Rock Café Texas, Six Flags Over Texas and the 2012 SXSW Music Festival in Austin, TX.
Unstoppable is a 9-track album that showcases Colton Jacobson’s talent as a singing performer. Overall the album is amazing as the music and lyrics meshes so well with his voice. Colton keeps his inspirations flowing throughout the album, from beginning to end, with some stirring vocal performances, while the musical arrangements and solid sound production gives the package an even stronger glitter. If you have heard and liked the first single “Unstoppable”, you will truly enjoy the entire album.
Colton has a fantastic voice, and delivers heartrending performances with a maturity and depth that often belies his years. There is a good mix of styles on this album and it is a wonderful example of clean modern pop music. Colton moves from slow ballads to danceable tracks with utmost ease, never showing any signs of being in difficulty or flustered. He just shifts up or down a gear and flows right on through.
I particularly like the slower songs like, “Unstoppable”, “New Day”, “Young Love” and “Now Or Never” the best of the bunch for me, plus the catchy “Don’t Look Down”. Colton Jacobson certainly has potential to produce even better music as he grows older, and I’m confident that he will. In the meantime let’s enjoy a great album that is well recorded, produced and performed by an amazing 15-year-old talent!
