Starbass is the new dark electronic music project from the mind of Steven Comeau. (AKA: Stevo Le Diable) Consistently praised for it’s original sound, Starbass combines elements of dubstep, & industrial music with highly crafted songwriting and vocal performances. Starbass has instantly become a hit with the local industrial scene having shared the stage with fellow Canadians Fractured & Dym and later this month, Ego Likeness.
Originally from Toronto Canada, Steven is currently working out of Salt Lake CIty. Over the years Steven has been known as an electronic music pioneer in Eastern Canada producing many underground club hits as well as charting on the national dance charts. With his move to SLC, Steven continues to explore new sounds in creating both original music and spinning the best and most sonically interesting music for audiences everywhere.
Starbass 1, the debut album by Starbass, is one of the most intriguing musical journeys you could ever undertake. The production is gloriously masterful, an extraordinary blend of diverse electronic elements impeccably woven into a profoundly fascinating sonic tapestry that is an utterly divine experience to listen to.
Starbass is revolutionary, and an incredibly intriguing experience. This music beckons you to rise limitlessly with it, beyond what you thought was possible with dubstep sounds and electro-goth overtones. It is clear straight out from track one, that Starbass is a progressive thinker and is using his clout to triggering a new sound movement. His creations should appeal to nearly everyone since it varies from melodic tunes to nasty bass-filled beats.

This album showcases 10 tracks that cross the epic gorgeousness of driving intensity and cold yet massive grinding bass and wobbles. Beautiful, powerful, original, this monster sound will rock your face off! Starbass delivers churning, rolling, thick basslines, together with an amazing variety of vocals lines; it doesn’t get much better than this.
This is a very eclectic amalgamation of sounds and sonic techniques. Starbass uses many different musical styles to achieve his particular cross-genre niche sound. He also uses various low frequency oscillators to generate the Dubstep sounds common to so many of the tracks on this album. The songs generally have an unusual tempo-feel because of the different bass sounds he uses to great effect.
Starbass 1 enters your ears and moves through your veins, pulsing all the while. It surrounds you, feeds you, drops you, and then lifts you. The most thoroughly enjoyable electro music I’ve heard in a while. Star tracks for me, include “Pretty Time Bomb”, “Darkstar”, “Hackers On Steriods”, “Venus in Mars” and “Dance Of Strangers”.
In a Depeche Mode meets Skrillex meets The Aphex Twin mix, the songs feature typical grooving bass lines with effective percussive and sweeping lead sounds. All in all Starbass provides different kinds of aural candy that has sounds from many different avenues of music, all combining to make a winning musical recipe! This is a must have in everyone’s music collection.
