Quentin Scales aka Koop Koop, was born January 1, 1987. he was raised by a single mother, Marilyn Joe Parker. I had a brother and two sisters. Although, they didn’t have it easy, they had each other, and to them, that’s all that mattered. Scales and family lived in a small town called Hugo, Ok, where dreams were big but the poverty rate was even bigger. Scales’ mother did her best to make ends meet and they entertained themselves the best way they knew how…with music! On the impulse and insistence of his brother, Koop Koop has become a reality in the music world.
At what point of your life did you decide to take music seriously?
Koop Koop: I been rapping for a long time now. I just start taking it very serious once my best friend Jamie Robinson Passed away December 11, 2016.
How did you actually get started performing and recording music?
Koop Koop: My brother had skills so when he was out and about I would go into the studio and come up with something nice.
What are your long-term goals or career plans as Ashley Shamara the artist?
Koop Koop: I want to be one of the greatest to do it but in my OWN way.
How do you feel you separate yourself from other artists right now?
Koop Koop: Real good music, versatile, Song writer and produce, so I’m pretty much and try to be majority of the time when it comes to my music and anything else that concern me.
Who more than any other influenced your style?
Koop Koop: A little bit of everyone that I sit down and listen to during my spare time. Mainly the ones that are nice.
If you were forced to compare yourself to an already established artist (past or present), who would that be and why?
Koop Koop: No one, That’s why have so much confidence that I could be one of the GREATEST to ever do it.
What do you consider a really successful or high point in your career so far?
Koop Koop: Having the opportunity to go on tour pretty soon.
How is the music and lyrics in your songs developed? Do you handle all the processes or do you collaborate with others?
Koop Koop: Once again I’m pretty ” Independent ” when it comes to my music. I handle my business as in Writing, produce, record, and I don’t need anyone around to give me the juice to go in and make music. It’s in me and not on me.
What do you feel your listeners should get out of your music?
Koop Koop: Every single bit of it, the good and the bad stories the present and past.
What has been the most difficult thing you’ve had to endure in your life or music so far?
Koop Koop: Love, Raw emotions, & etc. I couldn’t name one thing because music been good to me.
If you had the opportunity to change one thing about the music business, what would that be?
Koop Koop: BRING BACK HIP HOP.
How do you market and manage your music career? Do you have a management team or do you control everything by yourself?
Koop Koop: I have a management team named Big Dreams Entertainment whom reside in Atlanta, GA.
If someone has never heard your music, which keywords would you personally use to describe your overall sound and style?
Koop Koop: Unique, Authentic, Versatile, motivational, & encouraging.
Do you consider Internet and all the social media websites as fundamental in building a career in music today, and what is your personal relationship with the new technology at hand?

What do you feel are the most urgent or depressing issues in your community now, and do you feel your experiences as an artist, as well your music can and should address these issues in any way?
Koop Koop: I just want to give my surroundings hope and faith that there are bigger and better things in the world than what we’ve always known our whole life and that’s Hugo, OK. I just want to be the stand out guy that I am and help my community. My plans are to remove Jamie Robinson & I family out of the state of Oklahoma.

Koop Koop: Tupac, 50 Cents, & Michael Jackson.
If you had to think of a slogan, saying or personal thought that could leave a positive impact on fans, what would that slogan be?
Koop Koop: Sit down! Listen! Get Up! Go get the money!
