For the past 12 years, Luca Brassy has been building a reputation in the Tri-State area as one of the hottest emcees in the region. Brassy’s first mixtape was released in 2006 titled “The Project: Stereotyped”, and his first full length album “The Narration: The Heart of a Champion” in 2010. A remake of that album was released Through Tate Music Group in 2014 titled simply “The Heart of a Champion.” Luca is currently signed with Sony RED and under management through Wealth Nation Entertainment (Robert Terell).
Now Luca Brassy has teamed up with P.Diddy’s go to producer Richard “Younglord” Frierson, who has produced hits for other such superstar artists such as Beyoncé Knowles, Mase, Big Pun (RIP), Lil Kim, LL Cool J, Fat Joe, New Edition, Ginuwine, and more, for his radio dance single entitled “3000.” This track, produced by the incredible super producer Richard Frierson, is nearly flawless in execution. The singing is superb, the rapping on point, the backdrops are knocking, and the songwriting is fitting. This is just one of those tracks that are memorable and sort of a sign of the times.
“3000” is a certified banger. The cut is simple in scope; it is an ode to partying, having fun and plenty of sex, as if it is the last time to do so. Brassy never pretends to be super lyrical or over the bridge commercial, he is a talented slick liner MC with a strong pop edge. And that works perfectly for his brand. He is an example of how mainstream hip hop should sound: the right balance of swagger, lyrics, delivery, and beats. Luca Brassy’s solid flow coupled with Frierson’s high production values make “3000” a very enjoyable listening and danceable experience.
This song is, in fact, is perfectly mainstream as far as rap and dance goes. Is that a bad thing? Not at all. Many rap fans enjoy being elitist about hating anything on the charts and loving underground and 90’s artists. And that’s cool too, but mainstream music, in my opinion, is a different beast entirely. And I have to say, Luca Brassy excels at making its music here. This thing is ready to storm the airwaves and dance-floors!
“3000” is a steaming-hot track by Luca Brassy. He’s a great young artist with so much potential, and if you love entertaining music, you can listen or dance to, this is the one to put your money on!
