Dominic Jackson aka DJAX is an artist from Seattle Wa, currently living in California’s Bay area. He has become more serious about his craft after recently graduating college with collaborations from other up and coming artists from The Bay, Seattle, and LA areas.
He has been featured on World Star Hip Hop, with one of his party songs “IDGAF” and has since been trying to perfect his craft and expand his musical horizons with new music. DJAX has a new EP, “Long Flights & Sleepless Nights”, coming up soon; in the meantime he has released the single “Insomnia” produced by Silent J, from the same project.
DJAX takes you on an emotional journey, and that’s exactly what I look for when I listen to music nowadays. He doesn’t just spit nonsense rhymes to fill bars. His music seems to fit into to real life as the mood or subjects touched can be understood by real people. DJAX has dropped many listenable tracks in the past and here he packs plenty of fire power to make this track really worthwhile. DJAX always keeps the listeners ears with his story telling and clever word play.
DJAX’s lyrical ability is simply astonishing; a solid work of entertaining, thought-provoking wordsmithing is how I choose to describe “Insomnia”. From the first bar, DJAX comes out carrying his mysterious, reverberating, laidback ghost-like flow, holding a lyrical weapon in both hands and blazing.
DJAX has a voice that calls to you through the speakers of your music system. They carry a subdued passion in them. His fluent, passionate and thoughtful rhymes illuminate a life on the grind in a way you never really gave much thought to. He comes off with a somber and a sad sounding edge, closing his verses with the realities of trying to make it in life.
It’s not easy, it’s not happy, and it’s not the type of life you go out of your way to live. It’s the type of life you’re forced to live if you want to succeed at anything. DJAX’s voice will soon find its way onto the air waves and permeate every listening ear out there.
