Cynful Bliss born as Breonna Smith is a girl from Brooklyn, NY. She’s been involved in music and the arts her whole life, and decided to take it seriously about 3 years ago. She is now working on her first Mixtape to be titled, “The Process: Application”.
She is not just a rapper she is truly a poet and is so refreshing in an industry that has become so commercialized, main stream and full of crap. Bliss offers an intimacy and emotional connection through her poetry you just can’t find these days.
With her latest single, ‘Young Hustla’ (Prod. BluntedBeatz), Cynful Bliss hasn’t just given us music. She’s given us her authentic experience. Her history, her emotions, and her mind manifested in sincere lyrics, delivered with a flow that captivates you with an almost conversational story, as if sitting with her as she shares what’s been on their mind.
There’s a relationship Bliss is establishing with the listener, one that is interesting to be a part of.
To say that I was excited about this single release is an understatement. I’m always waiting with baited breath for new female rappers to come along in a male dominated industry. So often I feel like female rappers are pandering heavily to their male audience by being excessively sensual or ditzy.
Bliss’ lyrics focus not on her body but on life which I find empowering. This combined with her genuine technical skill and catchy music already puts ‘Young Hustla’ head and shoulders above the crowd.
You can continue to call Cynful Bliss a rapper if you want; But ‘Young Hustla’ (Prod. BluntedBeatz) shows that she is much more than that. It has moments of extreme honesty and emotional depth. If you listen to her other tracks, you will notice that Bliss attempts to make a statement on almost every song.
The attempt is valiant, and even through any slower moments or struggles, it feels uplifting. Her latest single introduces us to an undeniable presence, an intense young rapper with a fearless tongue, an easygoing conversational flow and a good ear for beats!
