Absoloot: “Man on Fire” – bursting-at-the-seams with groove!

Having worked in the industry for years, as an independent artist, Absoloot continues to progress forward gaining more momentum as he makes moves. He blends modern rap flavors with a hint of old school, in every aspect, from delivery to production. Hailing from the Sunshine State, the Jook Capital, Absoloot approaches his music in a calm, cool and collected way, ignoring boundaries and limits. “Man on Fire” is the latest track from this hardworking award-winning emcee.

absoloot-profileWith rap and hip-hop in the predicament we have today, the result is about what you’d expect: Mostly radio-friendly, club-hopping anthems that sacrifice what little originality existed in the first place for simple trap that teeters between the old-school South and the new.

This leads to a slew of tracks that fail to leave any impact. But the biggest hurdle most modern rap has to overcome is the content. How clichéd, trite, repetitive it is to hear talk of sex, drugs, fame, money, and the streets. Absoloot doesn’t suffer from any of these problems. He is what many would rightfully consider a true hip hop emcee. That is why he keeps finding ways to be relevant year upon year.

And even in this new track, “Man on Fire” which is not an excessive exercise in deep thinking but rather an entertaining banger to groove to, Absoloot finds a way to sound interesting, and like a man on a mission. The track is soulful, smooth and very melodic.

It forges some amazing vocal hooks, and the usual bursting-at-the-seams verses from Absoloot. Everything about this track is alive, passionate and straight up Absoloot on his grind. The beat is strong, and his flow is fluid and timeless. His voice alone brings the track full circle. Absoloot switches up the rhyme scheme in a way that really draws your attention to his words.

“Man on Fire” is a welcome breath of fresh air in a hip-hop and RnB scene filled with mumble rap and singers trying to recreate the sound that propelled Bryson Tiller to fame. Here there is no forced attempt to make that kind of current-sounding music.

Instead, it just naturally happens that this focused quality music has the traits of what seems to be the in sound at the moment. And this, quite honestly, is just the tip of the iceberg of what Absoloot is actually capable of doing.
