Jay La Familia is a Rap Artist out of Orlando, Florida. He just recently launched his career. New single ‘Running Wit Da Sack’ is streaming on all platforms. His EP drops March 2021.
What first got you into music?
Jay La Familia: What first got me into music was my little brother I only have one he would make so many beats songs until I just said what the heck and tried it one day.
Who inspired you to make music?
Jay La Familia: And the person that inspired me the most to make music was my little brother we both love music but she was his girlfriend first lol even this last push that in needed he sparked the flame he told I had what it takes my brother has inspired me more than any one and My kids and my Family are my motivation.
How would you describe the music you typically create?
Jay La Familia: I describe my music as different I don’t have a style my style is created when I make a relationship with the beat so I would just call it different
What is your creative process like?
Jay La Familia: My creative process is simple I find a beat I really like and write depending on how much I like the beat I can write multiple songs to it.
Who would you most like to collaborate with?
Jay La Familia: I honestly don’t know who I would like to collaborate with.
If you can open a show for any artist, who would it be?
Jay La Familia: I can open up for anybody it will be Young Jeezy
What is the one message you would like to give to your fans?
Jay La Familia: The one message I would like to give my fans is the guy you behind is a good guy but been through and seen a whole lotta bad shit and some good stuff life from my eyes that’s all.
What is the most useless talent you have?
Jay La Familia: My most useless talent is dancing I don’t know how I can rap but not dance but it’s true for me maybe I’ll get lessons.
Do you sing in the shower? Which songs?
Jay La Familia: Yes I sing in the shower and I sang my songs lol.
What would you be doing right now, if it wasn’t your music career?
Jay La Familia: If it wasn’t for music I would be running my cleaning business and doing plumbing.
Where have you performed and what are your favorite and least favorite venues. Do you have any upcoming shows?
Jay La Familia: I’ve only performed at a few small clubs in the Orlando and Lake county areas years ago. I don’t have any upcoming shows at the moment.
How do you feel the internet has impacted the music business?
Jay La Familia: The Internet has impacted the music industry greatly. Look at me for example I’m campaigning in the middle of an epidemic only because of the Internet.
What is your favorite song to perform?
Jay La Familia: I have really not performed in years so I don’t have a favorite song not yet but I will.
Which famous musicians do you admire?
Jay La Familia: I like a lot of musicians. I can’t choose one because all rappers are responsible for the rap genre all singers for R&B what I’m trying to say is there is too many elements to music to choose just one person, somebody will always be stronger in another element.
What is the most trouble you’ve ever gotten into?
Jay La Familia: The most trouble I got into was drug trafficking 2011-2012 did prison time.
What is the best advice you’ve ever been given?
Jay La Familia: Follow your heart.
If you could change anything about the industry, what would it be?
Jay La Familia: I don’t know what I would change about the industry at this point in my career but it seems hard to get in.
What’s next for you?
Jay La Familia: Jay La Familia: What’s next is just to sit back and see does the world take a liking to my music I have more.
