Hailing from São Paulo, Brazil, Fernando Triff is a driven, passionate and charismatic artist with a unique approach to his blend of alternative rock. He has been writing his own songs since he was 16, eventually developing a personal sound that falls somewhere in the lot with inspirational artists such as Nirvana, Linkin Park, Gorillaz, Foster The People, Paramore or Sum 41, just to name a few.
His debut single “Blessing like Swagger” was released on 7/29/14 and debuted at number #61 on the international iTunes chart. The song is thoroughly engaging, thanks not only to solid songwriting and a passionate performance, but also a spectacular arrangement. I love the variety of instrumentation here; it’s a wonderful blend of alternative rock and anthemic, power pop with some crunchy riffs and a great guitar solo.
The song captivates with its bright chorus and irresistible melody. One has to also give some major credit to the producer here, as the production is simply outstanding and helps bring this song to life in a major way!
“Blessing like Swagger”, unfolds, verse after verse with a wholeness and flow that hardly anyone accomplishes, or even tries to accomplish, anymore. The authenticity of the music and lyrics reminds us how shallow and concocted so much current music is. The musicianship is stunning in its beauty, eloquence, and restraint. The tones are beautiful; the arrangement is ear-grabbing, while the production delivers enough sonic stunts to satisfy.
Fernando Triff performs with such fluidity that the music flows and breathes with life in a way we almost never experience in click-tracked, pitch-corrected music these days.
Often it takes a second or third listen of a song to get a solid sense of its quality and know whether you’re going to listen to it again. “Blessing like Swagger”, falls into that rare category of an effort that will win you over the first time through!
