Brian Cottrill Unveils Electrifying Electropop Single “She’s My Queen” with a Music Video Shot on Location in Venice, Italy – Releasing September 18, 2026
West Virginia veteran takes a dramatic sonic turn with a synth-driven celebration of love, obsession, and the woman who inspired it all – with a music video filmed in Venice, Italy
West Virginia singer, songwriter, guitarist and producer Brian Cottrill is taking his music in a bold new direction with the release of his new single and music video, “She’s My Queen,” arriving Friday, September 18, 2026, on all major music streaming platforms and YouTube.
Best known for his work spanning rock and other alternative styles, Cottrill describes “She’s My Queen” as something distinctly different from the music he has created over the years. The electropop track draws inspiration from pioneering synth-driven artists such as The Cars and Gary Numan, while combining infectious melodies, electronic textures, driving rhythms and playful lyrics.
Adding an international visual dimension to the release, the “She’s My Queen” music video was filmed on location in Venice, Italy. The iconic city provides a striking backdrop for the song’s larger-than-life celebration of beauty, attraction and romantic obsession, creating a contrast between the historic surroundings of Venice and Cottrill’s modern, synth-driven sound.
The song is also a family affair. Cottrill performs vocals, guitar, bass, drums and keyboards on the track, joined by his daughters Erica Cottrill and Brooke Conte on vocals. Cottrill wrote, recorded, mixed and produced the song himself.
“I wrote this song about my wife, but it’s really a universal thing for anyone who is obsessed by a beautiful woman,” Cottrill says. “My daughters sing some amazing vocal riffs on the song. This song is really something very different than all of the other music I have done over the years. It features more synthesizers, and I really did a deep dive through hundreds of different sounds and effects to get the synthesizers the way I wanted them for what you will hear on this song.”
“She’s My Queen” embraces that obsession with a tongue-in-cheek, larger-than-life approach. The lyrics pile up colorful descriptions of the woman at the center of the song before returning again and again to its instantly memorable declaration: “She’s my Queen.”
The production is equally central to the song. Rather than simply adding synthesizers to a traditional rock arrangement, Cottrill built the track around electronic sounds and effects, creating a distinctly electropop atmosphere while retaining the energy and attitude that have characterized his music throughout his career.
The release continues a prolific period for Cottrill, a veteran of the West Virginia music scene who has released eight critically acclaimed albums and has performed live with The Grey Agents, Dream Trippers, Drain Babies, and as a solo artist.
With “She’s My Queen,” Cottrill demonstrates that after decades of making music, he is still willing to step outside his established sound and explore something completely new — this time pairing a futuristic, synth-heavy musical direction with the timeless beauty of Venice.
