Natalie Jean – “Nostalgia de Navidad” – This will be your soundtrack for the holiday season, and beyond!

What’s the next most important thing at any holiday gathering, besides food? Music. This upcoming holiday season, whether it’s a friend’s party, a work shindig, or your family’s celebration, music will be played. If you’ve heard your fair share of the classics, then it’s time to change to something different. Something you can listen to, and something you can dance to.  Admittedly, I am biased. I love Natalie Jean and think that the lady can do no wrong. Having said that, I can say that her latest track, “Nostalgia de Navidad” is one of her most diverse musical statements. I often judge music by its longevity in my life, and this one will return, year after year with a vengeance every time the weather chills up and the snow settles down.

Why? Well it’s in the title – this is a Christmas song, albeit with a romantic and Latin twist. This will be your soundtrack for the holiday season, and beyond. There are few artists who could meld so much musical goodness seamlessly. But Natalie Jean can, and this track proves that there is nothing she can’t do.

Focusing on her lush, gorgeous voice, and the dreamy, rhythmic instrumentation, fans will be surprised to hear how comfortable Natalie sounds within this smooth Latin groove. Subtle percussion and warm tones provide the backing but its Natalie’s voice that carries the song and drives the melody.

I always Natalie Jean was a fantastic singer but had no idea that she could sing with this confidence in Spanish. There’s something about the language that lends itself to music but with Natalie singing it’s just magic. On every song she sings, Natalie’s voice resonates with a timeless clarity and purity; and she shows us here that her voice seems unfazed by the switching of genres or styles.

After listening through “Nostalgia de Navidad” it certainly appears that the track represents the icing on her cake of talents. Long-time fans of Natalie Jean’s pop endeavors will delight in hearing her doing something completely different. They will be surprised to hear this growing talent stepping out of her usual comfort zone and singing beautifully just the same.

“Nostalgia de Navidad” is a cover of the song “Holiday Blues”, which was written and produced by Bruno Vallelunga. Natalie Jean performed, arranged, and produced the song, which was translated into Spanish by two-time Latin Grammy Nominee, Danilo Gossain. Play this song liberally, at any time, to get family and friends out of their chairs and into the dancing mood.
