After his critically acclaimed debut EP, ‘You Find Out On Your Own’, Michael Reddington now joined by The Echoes – Akeem Broderick (Drums/Backing Vocals) and Jim Allen (Bass/Backing Vocals) – is back with a new track entitled “GREEN”. Reddington is one of those artists that, although he has proved himself with his debut alone, just won’t let up. Lyrically and arrangement-wise Michael Reddington & The Echoes sound like they’ve been around for years.
Just in case you are not familiar with this band or are an old fogy like stuck in the 70s and 80s, I encourage you to give these guys a try. If crisp, inspired alternative Brit-Rock tunes mean anything to you, then you’ll be glad that to open your ears to them.
Overall, there are numerous reasons to embrace the music of Michael Reddington & The Echoes, but, perhaps the simplest, and most powerful, is that their work sounds alive! What better result could we ask for than riffs, chords and melodies filling us with zest and enthusiasm? And the single “GREEN” has this effect on me.
Michael Reddington & The Echoes can speak without talking better than most and do a fine job of it here, as they express themselves through their sound. From the zealous guitar strumming, to the fierce bass lines and purposeful drumming, “GREEN” has a soaring pop melody unwaveringly sung by Michael Reddington.
All on top of a really infectious beat and guitars that seem melodic but are really eclectically daring, extreme and even virtuously distorted.
The track is one with an adventurous spirit, and full of bravura. And it is an accomplishment and a confirmation of the band’s potential. The playing is as passionate and entertaining as to make us just enjoy this recording without being distracted by the technical discipline of its performance.
This is as genuine a triumph of contemporary alternative rock with a pop twist as you can get in the over played hip-hop and booty-queen driven musical era, in which we are living. “GREEN” is great songwriting full of energy and subtle brilliance as the song weaves itself into the brain.
Get this track now or you will regret it, as you are bound to fall in love with the driven, melodic and wonderful band that is Michael Reddington & The Echoes. This song will have you hitting the repeat button…well…repeatedly!
