Ivis is an immigrant in the US. He grew not listening to western music, in fact, he didn’t get into it until really late, but once he did, he says there was nothing but passion and love for it. His musical influences include artists like The Weeknd and Blackbear. Ivis who moved to the US at age 18, has just released his single “It’s The End”. Ivis has been going about his business in a sleek and punctual manner, and his professionalism seems to be marked by an acute self-consciousness.
The sweeping, aerial, melodic production coupled with Ivis diary-like lyrics leave plenty for the listener to hold on to. I’m not a fan of fancifully elaborate metaphors in music criticism, but given how fancifully elaborate the single was, it has to be said that listening to “It’s The End” was like driving, hood down, straight into a cool breeze on a hot summer’s day.
It’s blend of expert production, tender yet not saccharine verses, and rich simple hooks will prove irresistible to radio. By embracing love, pop and R&B, Ivis will earn himself a golden ticket to enter into the music industry.
The track is a perfect blend of Ivis’s vibe and musical style. After many listen-throughs, this track will live up to any hype it creates and delivers a confident body of work that encompasses a wide spectrum of talents Ivis has to offer. “It’s The End” is a piece of work that anyone can appreciate.
Older fans will be happy to hear somber lyricism, moody R&B atmosphere, and powerful vocals, while younger fans can appreciate a more pop and trap-influenced flavor creeping into the arrangement, but one that still pushes the envelope of mainstream sound.
“It’s The End’s” lush soundscape, lullaby-esque production style, and soft but distinctive drums allow Avis to not hold anything back and deliver stunningly smooth vocals with an acute falsetto to match. “It’s The End” is extremely intricate and layered resulting in a track that showcases how far he has come artistically throughout the years of his Western music influences.
Overall, Ivis has created one of the most hypnotizing tracks of 2017 so far. Not bad for a young new artist on the block.
