21 year-old artist from Detroit, V-AaronBlue I, gets his game underway with “Lime Lights”. Backed by soulful production provided by GWB, it’ll be hard to find a more solid and creative production. V-AaronBlue I brings heat with great lyrics, and his slightly laid-back tinged vocal style. V-AaronBlue I also has a unique delivery and flow accompanied by his concrete lyrical prowess.
In today’s glamorous and ultimately skin-deep hip hop scene, it is decidedly rare to find rappers with the lyrical dexterity, seamless flow, and poetic charm like V-AaronBlue I .
Upon first listen, anyone who is familiar with his style will not be surprised by the sound, and while it is an acquired taste to someone who is used to mainstream rap, the beats he uses are so thoroughly unique and high quality that one can only wonder why he is still relegated to a relative no-name position for underground artists.
Using the term ‘authentic’ can be dangerous in describing rap or hiphop music, but even though V-AaronBlue I is pretty new to the game, he embodies the term. “Lime Lights” is borderline mainstream but also alternative hip-hop although not entirely experimental; the lyrics are slick and meaningful, expressing that he is talented and able to put on a display of lyrical and musical know-how that anyone can listen too.

For people who can appreciate real hip hop, it doesn’t get much better than this for a newcomer. Poignant lyrics and a chill-out groove, high above a lot of the clichéd mainstream garbage that clutters today’s musical landscape. If you ask me, a lot of rap is monotonous today, but there are a few artists that stick out and one of them is here. This single is a marriage of an eclectic beat and smooth, soul stirring lyrics. V-AaronBlue I has the flow to make you listen, and when you do, you’ll see that he is dropping creative, thoughtful lyrics.
Hip-hop seems to work best when it’s a collaborative effort. In this tradition comes V-AaronBlue I and producer GWB, producing a track that is a perfect fit for the relaxed rhymes on “Lime Lights”. I have to admit that this single went completely unnoticed by me until I stumbled upon it via the miracle of reviewing, but it became apparent very quickly exactly what I had been missing. I suggest you give this a listen. I assure you that you won’t be disappointed.
