Singer-songwriter Troy Lindsey has been lucky enough to land a day job that allows him to see the world, but when he’s not clocked in working on Sikorsky skycranes, he’s making music with emotion at the core. Anyone who has been listening to Troy’s records for the last several years knows they can expect equal parts humor, inspiration, and sentimentality.
Whatever else you want to say about him, it’s hard to deny that the man is consistent. Troy really doesn’t push the boundaries artistically in his latest effort, “Runners” featuring Eden Moody, and he doesn’t need to because this is exactly how fans prefer him!
One reason for Troy Lindsey’s appeal is his ability to carry sentimental songs without them coming across as saccharine. He can sound so vulnerable and simultaneously so strong. He obviously chooses songs with the kind of lyrics that reflect that, but this observation mostly refers to his delivery.
Memories of a fleeting love are made more emotional and seductive sounding with the added dimension of Eden Moody’s complimentary vocals. The low-key but passionate deliveries take the lyrics to another level on “Runners”.
Both Troy and Eden have a very sharp ear that leads to perfect tonality and pitch. They have wonderful voice control, are able to harmonize with the music and phrase the song according to the style required for the tempo and story they are telling through the music – this one is about walking away from a relationship.
The song defines what country music is all about: A high quality tune, amazing singing, great musicianship, solid production, and well written lyrics. But at the same time artists need to have charm and charisma to pull the whole thing off believably. Troy and Eden have this in bucket loads!
