Formed in July of 2013, The Best Revenge started as two friends, Dylan Kassenbrock and Armen Aroutiounian, jamming on acoustic guitar. After releasing their first single “Not Enough”, recorded at Man Cave Studios in Los Angeles, CA, they started building their fan base. Not many bands play their first gig at the world famous House of Blues in Hollywood, but this is no ordinary band. With the addition of Dylan’s older brother Travis on bass, and new member Kyle Bantle on drums, The Best Revenge is now a complete band that will soon be blowing up speakers across the country.
The Best Revenge has a sonic formula that work for them the first time around on “Not Enough”. Jangly guitar-driven riffs, fat, dirty and loose drum-bass rhythms and Dylan Kassenbrock’s emotive vocals throughout. I believe this is overall a unified and satisfactory listen for any alternative rock or punk fan. The Best Revenge, currently is Dylan Kassenbrock-Vocals/Rhythm Guitar, Armen Aroutiounian-Lead Guitar/Backup Vox, Travis Kassenbrock– Bass Guitar and Kyle Bantle-Drums.
When listening to the radio it is often hit and miss with a lot of music you hear, especially if you are into anything alternative. The Best Revenge are different, they’re punk-rock driven with a great pop sense of hooks and melodies. They include sounds that are modern, while also reminding you of classic punk-rock bands from the past.

Imagine a new punk-pop quartet from Los Angeles deciding, to record a cool song that reminds us of ’60s garage rock—adventurous, reckless, and edgy but with a clever modern pop sound. Imagine a mix between The Stooges, Green Day and classic Joe Jackson or even the Elvis Costello 70s sound. Imagine this new band releasing their single for free on the Internet. Now imagine the band, The Best Revenge and their single “Not Enough” and you’ll be right on target!
Although The Best Revenge can be categorized as alternative rock, on listening to the single, the music is really punk at heart. I would much rather be able to turn on the radio and hear these guys than some unrealistic boy band that does not write or even play their own music. They are both passionate and honest and it is very refreshing to hear something worthwhile that you can relate to. It is their playful angst that really lures people in.
The Best Revenge transcend through genres because of their lyrical content, great musicianship, and overall true-to-life spirit which will keep people coming back for more. I look forward to an Ep or album to get a better grasp of where the band is heading, but for now I’ll enjoy this single. All in all, as an unbiased consumer and music listener, I can say that on an artistic level, it’s just about perfect!
