“Web Of No Return,” is a song is dedicated to all those who have suffered at the hands of cyber bullying. It is not intended to cause distress to the listener but instead attempts to portray the sheer devastation that can result from cyber bullying especially when experienced by vulnerable teenagers. Written by Joseph O’Loughlin, the song is performed by 19 year old female vocalist, Stephanie Healy from Loughrea, Co. Galway, Republic of Ireland.
Stephanie is currently studying Commercial and Modern Music in the Brighton Institute of Modern Music in Dublin. “Web of no Return” is her first release published in March of this year. Currently she can be heard mainly heard in the West of Ireland.
“Web Of No Return” is a lush, lyrical, and rich mixture of melody and harmony that somehow captures a moment of life – especially for us Cybernauts. O’Loughlin’s writing and Healy’s singing, paint a picture of musical imagery with a depth that borders on the magnificent. It may sound somewhat dramatic for a ‘folk-rock’ piece, but “Web Of No Return” is folk-rock like no other around at the moment. Imbued with deep emotion and sentiment about a suffering, at the hands of would be friends and peers, the piece is really something that most young people can easily relate to. The overall gestalt of music, lyrics, and Stephanie’s sweet voice is somehow quite magical.

Here is a young woman’s voice so strong and lovely that it can take the simplicity and lasting melody of folk songs and give the songs the honor they deserve. Stephanie’s voice has the range and purity to make you ache with its beauty. “Web Of No Return” is acoustic driven piece, that is all about emotion and atmosphere.
If you’ve come here for digitally enhanced razzmatazz, similar to what you’d find on the radio charts, you’re probably barking up the wrong tree. The cool voice and the clearly understood verses are evident, and great emotion is achieved with Stephanie’s ability to balance the timbre of her voice to the story of the song. Miss Healy’s voice sounds like it just dropped off of the 60’s folk revival and protest movement; pure, melodious and true. As she sings:
“Is my life really worth saving
When my cyber peers type in their taunts in turn
What is the point to all this suffering
I try to do my best
But they just won’t let me rest
I’ve failed to pass the test now must I burn
In the web of no return”
Simple, beautiful, and thought-provoking, Stephanie Healy’s debut “Web Of No Return” single could mark the beginning of a new career.
