Move Away-0001 stands out on its own as single that perfectly showcases Luke Helmond’s talents. A dramatic piece that spins an image of space vistas into your head, the tone is epic and relaxed. But before you get yourself too lazy , “RESET! – I Need You (Luke Hammond Remix)” shoots you right between the eyes with its punctuated drum programming and laser sharp synths, it finishes by reaching a climax and then filtering away into the night.
“Serendipity” featuring Corinna Covini is quite frankly the piece that got me infected by Luke Helmond. Musically, this is a dusky synthesizer piece loaded with sad and sweeping atmospherics. Corinna’s vocal parts are wonderful and add soft, ethereal textures to the arrangement, which seems to have more than its fair share of classically influenced passages -some of which are fairly dark.
“Alive”, again featuring Covini on vocals, is especially haunting in its opening bars, showcasing dreamy synthesizer pads. After two minutes the song explodes into a hectic, rapid synth attack, nicely bolstered by the heavy weight of dark space that lays over it, and menacing drums on the horizon
Helmond’s electronic sound has a distinctly ambient, ethereal quality to it. At times it’s like a mixture of Zedd’s Housestep creativity, together with Enya’s other-worldly depth of sound and Kraftwerk’s incredible bass-walking rhythms, thrown-in for good measure!
Luke Helmond’s mix of tasty electronic beats with catchy melodies and beautiful voices will grab and lift you up. It’s like all the best elements of pop, edm, ambient and dubstep all mixed together. It’s a positive sound that will energize you to your depths. There are some turns in the music where you’ll just smile and think at how amazing it sounded.
Helmond has a real gift for building refreshing electronic music productions that span many styles. However he carves his sound into something startlingly idiosyncratic, a consistently Luke Helmond -flavored listening experience; which is rare in the electronic music scene, considering everybody deliberately creates music that sounds like whatever’s big at the moment.
Helmond takes risks and obviously aims to create music that will make you say “That’s Luke Helmond!”
If you’re searching for the future in electronic music, then Helmond is looking to lead the wave. He can do it all, whether it’s chill ambient music, to banging dance floor thumpers! And if that’s not enough, ask yourself how you can ignore an artist who believes that all music should be free-of-charge! Truly one of a kind!
Luke Helmond is an Italian-Lebanese music producer. Luke believes that music has to be accessible to all people; therefore his music is available on free download. Luke feels music should be free of charge because music has helped him through some of the most difficult and emotional moments of his life.
Luke who started his musical career just 3 years ago, is influenced by the likes of Deadmau5, Skrillex, Justin Timberlake, Daft Punk, Zedd, Seven Lions, Koan Sound, Amon Tobin and Kraftwerk among others. He describes his sound as “deep, emotive, colored, powerful and trippy”, personally selecting “Serendipity”, featuring Corinna Covini, as one of his most representative songs.
Luke who has studied as a sound engineer in Milan, where he is based, is not too occupied with genre distinctions between House, EDM, Dubstep, Glitch, Hip Hop, Electronic, as he feels they all speak the same language of…music!
