Em Weeks is a young songwriter that has been writing since she was 14 and has attended the prestigious Interlochen Arts song writing program as well as Berklee College of music. This past year she was chosen by the Grammy Foundation as one of 15 high school singer songwriters to attend their music Industry boot camp in Brooklyn Converse Rubber Track studio where they spent 2 weeks immersed in writing and recording with Grammy awarding winning professionals.
Currently she is completing her last year of high school enjoying an opportunity to spend her senior year in California in the only high school with a dedicated song writing program where she is enjoying collaborating with other musicians. Em Weeks has been compared to a young Sarah Barailes or Colbe Colait and is currently writing songs for the next Hunger Games as well as other well-known artists. She writes primarily on the piano but also the guitar, her website is emweeksmusic.com
Every song on the Ep, “Turn Down The Radio”, showcases Em Weeks’ strong, sultry voice. From “Catch the Light” to “Colorblind” and “Dance With Me”, every cut is just a joy to listen to. If a groove could be cut in a CD, mine would have one, on the whole thing. I just love this CD and haven’t felt this way about a new, modern artist for a long time. It’s great to know there is some new, fresh talent out there; it gives me hope for the music industry that wonderful artists like Emily Weeks are plying their craft and putting out super quality music that appeal to people of all ages and musical tastes.
“Turn Down The Radio”, demonstrates that Em Weeks has an incredibly bright future ahead as a compelling chanteuse of original piano and guitar-based pop rock music. This is without a doubt a marvelous demonstration of awesome from a compelling young singer-songwriter from whom we will hear much of in the years ahead, I’m sure.

Em Weeks is caught somewhere between Jason Mraz and Sarah Bareilles, with her catchy rhythms, wondrous timing and profound lyrics. I’m not sure whether she is a better singer or songwriter. Her voice is powerful and rich while her arrangements are creative and colorful with deep, meaningful lyrics.
You shouldn’t rest until you got your hands on this album, from start to finish Em Weeks is simply superb. Every arrangement is touching, and her soulful, melodic voice will give you the chills. Weeks’ writing skills are simply one of the best out there. She infuses her melodies with heart. This is not music just for the sake of success. It is true art.
Singer-songwriters are garnering a lot more respect nowadays, and when the writing is as incredibly wonderful as this, the arrangements nearly perfect, and the vocals distinctive, moving, and relateable, you know that the young lady in question is truly proving to be a force to be reckoned with.
All the things you love about heartfelt, soulfully driven music are present and accounted for, all you have to do is put forth the effort to listen to it.
