Vincent Russo is a 20 year old singer/songwriter from Long Island New York. He has written several original songs, and has been into music since a very young age but it was only 2 years ago when he graduated high school that Vincent started getting serious about it and that’s when he started doing covers and writing his own songs then posting them on YouTube. One of his main musical influences is Maroon 5.
“Fragile” is one of the original songs Vincent Russo wrote, about a girl trying to break free from the past, the bad memories and being insecure about who they are. “Fragile to me means being insecure,” says Vincent. “Some things aren’t always as they seem, some people are happy on the outside but torn apart on the inside. They disguise who they are or hide behind a smile that isn’t real. They change, not for themselves but because of what other people think.”
Melodically and lyrically driven, “Fragile” sparkles and bristles with a big and warm piano arrangement. This is a very strong song considering the style of music that Vincent Russo has entered here. The sound is tweaked just enough to satisfy both the pop and R&B worlds. Perhaps what’s makes this a great song though, is its delightfully distinct quality – Vincent’s vocal range and overall tone is enthralling.
He has a great voice, and is musically talented. However, there are many wonderful singers out there… so what makes him different? Emotion. With his young age, I don’t know how he has managed to convey the feelings and emotions from his songs to the listener, but he does it effortlessly and perfectly.
This gift of emotional connection is something that cannot be trained or learned. Most of Vincent’s songs are quite straight forward, and he sings them simply without many decorative notes or over-elaborate music production. Simplicity is his beauty. It allows his voice and lyrics to reach the listener without too many distractions He is an artist, not a merely singer. Vincent is a YouTuber, posting videos, doing covers, not to mention writing and performing his own songs.
He firmly makes you believe in the power of music. With the right production and management staff, this young man has the potential to surpass many ‘would-be’ pop stars. His music is unpretentious, emotionally impacting and has all the attributes to attract a wide following of supporters. Without a doubt, if he keeps up the same level of dedication and quality, as shown on “Fragile”, Vincent Russo will eventually get the recognition and fame he totally deserves!
