His name is Tiny but there’s nothing ‘Tiny’ about him! With a powerful voice so big he grasps his listeners by belting out high notes infused with a deep soulful sound. Originally from Bahrain/Seychelles Tiny is a Dubai based singer.
Starting music at a young age singing in a choir, he has come a long way, releasing multiple award-winning hit singles and videos, as well as performing alongside, and as an opening act for some of the biggest names in the industry, such as Missy Elliot, Cee Lo Green and the Jackson 5.
Tiny has truly come a long way from his choir days and has indeed commenced his march towards stardom. After releasing his last EP titled ‘Eyes’, Tiny comes back with a new sound and a new mixtape, ‘(COA) Centre of Attention’, being the first single to be released after 2 years.
Tiny spoils the listener with his distinctive vocals, mixed with ingenious production work that expertly mixes Soul, RnB, modern urban and hip-hop sensibility.
The song, ‘(COA) Centre of Attention’ and its video has all the potential to instantly became a sensation and rightfully so with its playful yet serious tone and subject matter. That’s not to mention the sheer catchiness and accessibility of the song’s chorus and melody with Tiny’s velvet voice laid over it. In a word, the song is near-perfect and stands as his greatest achievement thus far.
Tiny has a certain unique high quality voice that is a pleasure to hear every time. Smooth yet rugged at the same time. He perfectly fuses many different influences into one highly enjoyable experience. The song itself was so well-crafted, the melody so infectious, the lyrics not too simple, but not too complex.
It was one of those rare candidates for perfect urban pop ballad. The songwriting is poignant and clever too. I’d have to say that the entire Tiny project – musically, vocally and visually, is worthy of praise and celebration.
