“I’ve always wanted to combine these elements and mix them into a unique creative ‘blend.’ In this project, we strive to create diverse music that carries notes of nostalgia for childhood, movies, and music from that era while sounding modern at the same time. It’s like progressive rock, but more accessible to listeners – without overloading their neurons,” says the founder of New Laconia. The project’s debut single is Stardust Bear Bazaar Pt. 1, which hides a truly unique sci-fi story behind its playful and dynamic groove.
Stardust Bear Bazaar Pt. 1 is a song that tells the story of a cosmic pub of the same name, its inhabitants, and random visitors. The main lyrical character is Bear, the owner of the establishment, who is stuck in a time loop and possesses portals to other universes. Due to the manipulations of the villain Time, these portals have turned into time machines, causing chaos.
At a critical moment, Bear jumps into a portal with a key and a map to travel to the past and hide these artifacts. His goal is to strategically guide his past self to these items so that he can confront the crisis.
“The goal of the song is to create a story involving time manipulation using recursion. Like all tales featuring time paradoxes, there are always plenty of unanswered questions about certain details—but who cares when the idea is this captivating?!” asks project founder Alex Syniakov. The track’s concept and unique storyline don’t distract from the main focus-music.
