Piff Loonez: “Do It” – at the forefront of a revival of real Hip-hop

Piff Loonez was born to Jamaican parents in Montclair, New Jersey. Living in a West Indies household really made Piff the person he is today. Though his parents were strict most of the time, it did bring out the best in him and what he puts in his music and how he carries himself every day.

Piff Loonez started pursuing his music career when he was 11 and kept that flame going. His father was a DJ and his mother was known for singing in the choir at church.  His influences include Jay-z, Big L, Nas, Vybz Kartel.  Between being exposed to music at home and listening to these artists, Piff started recording at one of his formers friend’s studios. He plans to make an impact in the Hip-Hop music world and take his spot in the music industry.

A few months back Piff Loonez released the track, “Do It”. On it Piff shows his growth as an artist. The lyrics, beat, and his flow are all high quality and very creative. He never forces a rhyme or a verse. His scheme is laidback and controlled with just enough energy to keep you interested in what he is saying.

Piff Loonez seems to be at the forefront of a revival of real Hiphop and by that I mean street poetry from the heart not label dictated ‘artistry’ conforming to a corporate model about being radio friendly and marketable. The worst thing about today’s music is the message is either dumbed down nonsense over an hypnotic production or some studio gangster who shoots all day and night and never reloads his guns. That not the case with “Do It”. This is that pure form that started the all the global love for this genre of music.

“Do It” is a good track to listen to and keep your third eye open and help free your mind. Most music these days just keeps the brain chained and locked away. Piff Loonez delivers a great production and powerful lyrics which is a cut above most mainstream music.
