I discovered the Metro-Detroit rock band, Morrow’s Memory just over a year ago, when we reviewed their debut album, “Moving Forward”. I remember completely enjoying it; great hooks, great lyrics, and terrific instrumentation can be heard on that album. Recently Morrow’s Memory has released their very first official music video for their brand new single, “Sapphire”.
The new single “Sapphire”, lives up to the anticipation thrust upon it after the band’s brilliant debut album. With a slower, more of a post-grunge sounding pace, the song is unabashedly melodic, unashamedly intense, and breathtakingly epic in scope. The best thing about “Sapphire” though, is the chorus, which has a great vocal and instrumentation build-up, and is incredibly catchy and resonant throughout. The short guitar solo boiling under the vocals, towards the end of the song, makes for a fiery reprise, while the acoustic guitars add a tone of mellowness to the entire arrangement.
Morrow’s Memory have long before realized that they can do a much better job at moving the average listener with a powerhouse ballad, than just with driving hard rock riffs. A blend that they experimented rather successfully in parts of “Moving Forward”. So if you’re looking for something that is evenly heavy and mellow at the same time, you should definitely give this new single a chance.

To sustain the single release, the band has also produced an official video of the song, which can be found on Youtube. Part of the video, which was directed by Jake Kennedy, was shot at the Farmington Civic Theater (Farmington, MI) while the other half was filmed in an old loft building in Corktown (Detroit, MI).
“Sapphire” was engineered, mixed, and mastered by Mat Halliday (of Minx Recording Studio – Toledo, OH). The single is available on all of the major music services (iTunes, CD Baby, Spotify, Amazon, Last.fm, Rhapsody, etc).
Morrow’s Memory is: Joe Wolford (Lead Guitar), Mike Fritz (Keyboards), Scott Sarnia (Bass), Tony Fitchett (Lead Vocals) and Zach Novak (Drums).
