Cocoy Claravall, the Indie Christian Songwriter, started writing songs when he was in high school in Baguio City, more commonly known as the summer capital of the Philippines. After graduating Cocoy moved to Manila where he began working and continued to write music, though not as often as he had liked. Today he has a successful career in the tech industry and is married to his wife Glenn, with whom he has a family of three kids – Tommie, Robbie, and Raffie. However, music still is Cocoy Claravall’s passion: “As long as I am here, I will share this talent and hopefully inspire others along the way,” says Cocoy, “my personal mission is to be able to bring as many souls back to Heaven.”
Day in and day out we are bombarded by billboards and Internet pop-ups enticing us to purchase the latest model of sports car or to covet the latest iPad or to visit the hottest dating site on the web. Though these apps and services may promise some sense of thrill and gratification, they ultimately won’t be able to satisfy that insatiable emptiness God has shaped in us.
The panache, advocated by Cocoy Claravall in his songs, is not in chasing after these idols but God himself.
