Pip is an American Soul/Pop artist who participated in season 2 of The Voice as part of Team Adam Levine. Pip first appeared in episode 3 of season 2, performing the classic “The House of the Rising Sun” most famously covered by The Animals. Pip was one of the fan favorites on Team Adam Levine, the lead singer of the pop/rock band Maroon 5.
Pip competed for “Team Adam” on season 2 of The Voice, retaining his status on the team by winning the “Battle Rounds” against Nathan Parrett, singing Amy Winehouse’s “You Know I’m No Good”. After “The Voice,” Pip got his break in 2014 landing a custom record deal with Indi.com/Bungalo Records/UMGD. His new single, “Hooked,” debuted as a summer release on iTunes, Amazon and other major outlets. The music video recently made its premiere on Vevo. According to sources, Pip is currently preparing to go on the road this summer on tour with “The Voice,” that will include a full concert schedule across the USA.
Pip’s new hit single “Hooked,” by Skrillex producer Noah Shain draws mainly from American-style soul-pop while he displays an impressive vocal range. To listen to his talent is a blessing to the ears and your soul. Single-handedly he is reinvigorating the hope of young artists actually being able to sing and boy can he sing. He is well worth the hype and then some. This is a beautiful song and you can feel every note that comes from his heart.
Don’t be fooled by Pip’s oh-so-endearing baby face and clean looks, he sings like a mature and soulful man twice his age! Considering that I despise TV talent shows so didn’t get to see Pip until the new video, this dude is a real surprise for me.
“Hooked” is an emotionally charged single by someone we will be hearing about for years to come yet. Pip’s heavenly voice and stirring delivery make this track a must.He has a unique way in expressing his music and whatever comes out of his mouth will make you melt.Pip’s vocals are pure, clear and honest. Much like the natural physical presence he projects.
Pip’s style on “Hooked”, is an explosive combination of soul and pop. It is pretty rare to hear a young male vocalist sing with such phrasing, skill and emotive power, putting him up there with the elite pack that usually frequent the Billboard charts.
No doubt, Pip is certainly ‘up and coming’ and I’m impatiently waiting for the new album. In the meantime watch Pip on video to get an even better flavor of his delivery and presence!
