‘Back to Life’ is an up-tempo dance track which takes on influences of House, Dubstep and Moobahton with bass heavy kicks and catchy vocal effects. The track takes you on an exciting journey of different drum rhythms and sonic effects. Cherish sings a sweet vocal hook on the track, with Max Mayers also adding some vocal variation and speaks from a different perspective as Cherish’s partner. The remix by Rebz is of a similar nature but with a ‘Trap’ twist.
The music video for the track, was shot, directed, and edited by Max Mayers and is of a minimal yet thought provoking nature that tells a story in a metaphorical way whilst playing on the word ‘life’, as a girl is seemingly escaping the dark city life (her chaotic unwanted memories) to be ‘alive’ in the nature of the woodland.
However she is not alone as one of her ‘demons’ in the image of a mummy has arose from the dead and is trying find her whilst occasionally disguising himself as a monkey to fit in with her new environment. Shots of the artist and Max Mayers are seen on the backdrops of Central London and Putney Heath woodland and are edited in a fast paced and rhythmical way to match the music.
Max Mayers “Back to Life” feat. Cherish is currently available in all digital stores.
