Margie Chadburn is an American Singer-Songwriter and Producer, who writes and plays music on the guitar and piano. She has been the writer or co-writer in every song she has ever released, and is currently working on her 5th album in LA in the Jim Hensen Studio/Randy Jackson’s Studio from American Idol. Chadburn works with variety of producers including Denarius Motesart (who has worked withCeline Dion), as well as Simon Illa and Lorenzo from in Atlanta, GA.
I have just been listening to her latest single release, “I Don’t Want To Feel This Way” ft. Keil, written by Chadburn and Keil and produced by Lorenzo and Simon Illa. She truly tries to stretch the meaning of music with her more flashy, stylistic approach to pop, mixing genres and embracing edgy urban sounds to create something truly unique and all her own.
I applaud her for that, because in this day and age the radio is basically a sea of similarly sounding pop stars who don’t understand the concept of progressive thinking. With a track like “I Don’t Want To Feel This Way”, Chadburn really identifies herself as part of the future of pop music.
Building on the foundation she has crafted with her previous tracks as well as the covers she has done, Chadburn takes a remarkable step forward here. The track is without any hiccup and is a tremendous effort all around with some serious highs vocally, and in the production.
The single shows off not only Chadburn’s vocal abilities but her creative spirit, and lyrical know-how. She understands how to weave a compelling storyline and “I Don’t Want To Feel This Way” help unfold the layers to her vision regarding heartbreak. She blends the melodic musicality that makes her so special with the hard hitting beats and triumphant poetic lines that color inside all the lines and make this track so emotionally inspired.
The verse has a constant hook that embeds the song in your eardrums, and the bridge is just a jarring fusion of haunting presence and dynamic energy which literally explodes into the chorus. And then Keil breaks it down with a solid rap verse, to add fuel to the emotional fire.
Margie Chadburn doesn’t need to yell, curse, or bad-mouth in order to sound powerful. She has this elegant maturity and gentle grace to her deliveries and it’s very refreshing to hear. She is beautiful and so is her voice. Looks like there’s a bright future for this American songstress!
