FourEver is an American Pop group made up of four young men aged between 16 and 18, Jarrod Allen on Vocals and Guitars, Chris Wise on Bass and Vocals, Brad Natianel on Drums, and Brett James on Guitar.
Boy Bands are not my thing – I hate to be that way – but that’s how it is. I have to say though, FourEver move beyond that. Sure they have the same catchy tunes, the full-blooded harmonies, and the soaring anthemic choruses, but they play instruments and write songs.
That just about kicks them out of the boy band group. Theirs is classic simplicity – no hiding behind grotesque electronics and over-elaborated dance moves – as they deliver memorable lyrics and a strong melody backed by guitars, bass and drums on the new single, “FourEver Now”.
These guys sound like consummate performers. The music is upbeat and enjoyable, while their songwriting shows a certain maturity. No doubt, “FourEver Now” is also superbly arranged, executed and produced. The cherry on the cake is obviously the vocals, both on lead and in harmony. Powerful, pristine and tight, the singing is pure bliss.
While at first glance, FourEver may seem much like many other teeny bopper bands that have come before them; they set themselves apart from the pack with their musicality and honesty. They sincerely seem to enjoy what they are doing and look honest while doing it too.
The fact that their ultra-pop catchiness will appeal to the young at heart, does not mean that they are not, or will not, become serious musicians in the future, as they grow and craft their careers. But for now, there is no reason to not enjoy their youthful musical exuberance, and share in the delight of listening to the energizing and uplifting melody that is “FourEver Now”!
And who the heck says that every artist has to become “serious, conscious or of substance” anyway? Since forever, music has been created and enjoyed the world over for its melody, harmony and rhythm…and FourEver has that in abundance. Three out of four looks extremely good to me. How many “serious, conscious, or of substance” bands, can match that equation!
