Elephant Heart is a musical collective started by married couple Jason and Victoria Evigan. The two express their music and its message through various collaborations, a broad palette of art forms and by aligning multiple musical experiences into unique creations. Elephant Heart combines the studio prowess of Jason, an award-winning singer/songwriter, and producer who worked with Madonna, RÜFÜS DU SOL, ZHU and Ellie Goulding, and Victoria, who shines as the group’s vocalist, songwriter, lyricist, and producer.
When asked about the inspiration for “Love is the Weapon” the duo explains “Alienation is the root of many of our global and individual problems. It is the root of many injustices around the world. The most powerful weapon that can be used in which to fight these issues is Love.” They continue, “Love IS the most powerful weapon; but, it’s also the hardest to choose. By choosing love, it requires you to lay down your defenses, surrender, forgive, and let go. Choosing love is the only way to bring about true reconciliation and unity.”
The core belief of Elephant Heart is its desire to drive social change in the world, leveraging the power of creative outputs to spread a message of empowerment through love, while also driving change through the integration of social impact projects.
In 2019, Elephant Heart released three songs “The Thunder,” “The Digital,” and “Lenguas”. The new tracks, alongside their 2018 song releases, “HIYA” and “WARFARE,” will be featured on their upcoming debut album, scheduled for release later this year.
The two also founded Picture This, a non-profit created to cultivate unique friendships between children in America with those across the globe through hand-written letters and artistic expression. More information here: http://www.canyoupicturethis.org/
