Buddy Force is an experienced underground rapper who is releasing his first commercial record “Images” Ft Kid Astro And Prince LyriQ, with marketing plan and budget behind it. Buddy is looking to gain a lot of momentum in the upcoming months and become a force to be reckoned with.
And no doubt his started on the right track with banging track which is set to draw quick attention. Buddy Force has arguably the slipperiest voice of the new bunch of up and coming underground rappers, and deploys it much like an instrument rather than a sound effect.
Where other artists find themselves stringing along halting, chant-like lyrics, often paired with unusual rhythms and jarring transitions, Buddy’s song is effortlessly melodic and composed with an obvious attention to hooks, bridges and verses; he knows when he needs to snap into his flow before delivering the goods in the chorus.
“Images” is jubilant with Buddy riding the wave of skittering synths and bouncy bass lines. He’s rattling off snatches of lyrics that are so clear they don’t need Rap Genius annotations to keep up with.
Buddy Force’s verses are melodies that are just as much felt as they are understood. The victory lap feeling of “Images” underlines this idea, as Buddy invokes a harsher flow before he sails through the chorus, demanding melodic vocal harmonies to come smashing in with him.
At some points while listening to the track you can really see why this emcee may soon become a breakout hip-hop artist. He has already mastered the Trap/Pop/RnB fusion sound that seems to be getting more popular every single day.
His rhymes are incredibly distinct and the production is somehow able to match the vocal delivery to the point where it becomes tough to tell what sound is vocal and what sound is beat. In fact, apart from the great vocals, what makes “Images” Ft Kid Astro And Prince LyriQ stand out from many other songs from the same genre is the excellent production.
On this one, Buddy Force proves that he can hang with many of today’s rappers and trap artists. And he’s just getting officially started!
