FlxshWave: “Fall Leaves (A6)” – an infectious soundscape!

FlxshWave is an artist from Paris, FRANCE. He has been producing and writing music for other artists since 2008 but has decided to drop a full project under his own moniker. FlxshWave’s influences ranges from EDM to Jazz, from Symphonic Metal to Hip Hop and Caribbean Music, as well as Pop and Rock.

“Fall Leaves (A6)” is the first single from the “ROADS” EP. An almost abstract, instrumental soundscape, a pounding rhythm of urban life, impressionistic vocal samples, where the words may not make sense on their own, but all, when combined, create something else. In a genre often stifled by its limited parameters, FlxshWave innovates, reinvents and astonishes.

flxshwave-350FlxshWave knows the power of restraint and release. The moment where everything stops, drops, and then, all of a sudden, it comes back, but thicker, louder, brighter. On this, FlxshWave takes his cue from a slower, more measured song and creates a powerful, uncoiled bass-driven beast that gently rolls across your ears with a mesmerizing, determined power.

“Fall Leaves (A6)”, starts with what sounds like a railway station. And, by the end, beat after beat, bar after bar, it becomes a huge, grooving monster, with epic synths sweeps, layered vocoder textures, and, at the heart of it all, the sound of an incessant kick drum.

It is both beautiful and oddly sinister at the same, pulsating with an intoxicating backdrop. To label this ‘another great chillout track’ would be to underestimate the depths of this song and the music within. But it could be a decent place just to start calling it something I suppose.

Chilled electronic music is nothing new, there were groups creating glacial ambient music as far back as the early 90s. FlxshWave differs as his take on chilled electronica is born out of much warmer and organic vibes. This is electronic music that both touches the soul and warms the heart. This infectious soundscape gives the impression of being really well thought out, and with feeling.

Open your ears to this. With “Fall Leaves (A6)”, FlxshWave has carved out a fusion of hypnotizing rhythm, resonating basslines, and synth bliss while maintaining a unique signature of sound defying any direct comparison. Sound different? It is, but once it finds its way to your stereo you’ll be hard pressed to take it out again. Don’t let this one get away. Brilliant.
