It takes a lot of talent and courage to make any kind of rap music, so I could tell right off that Delincuente had something special in making horrorcore. But he takes the horrorcore rap genre one step farther, putting heavy background beats, relentlessly demonic vocals, and meaningful lyrics together to create some solid underground rap. You just can’t help rapping along and banging your head in rhythm to the uncompromising beat of his latest track “Hell Face”.
Delincuente’s flow and wicked wordplay is stellar. His evil full-throated vocal style and his straight-voiced raps are often superimposed, tearing the microphone up and leaving it smoking. The pounding, hardcore beat, matches with the lyrics in the best way possible.
“Hell Face” sounds like a cross between Rammstein and Twiztid to me, with similar guitar tone and a heavy emphasis on slow, crushing death metal. At times crawling and plodding, at times grooving relentlessly, Delincuente will get you banging your head and stomping your feet a little harder every time you hear him.
The track has a slow swinging groove and knuckle-dragging rhythm that keeps the listener attentive, while Delincuente’s voice has a vicious edge; he snarls with a hardcore, growling tone, and delivers rather extreme lyrics like:
“It’s tragic the wickedness that I dispel
While I sit on my throne in my kingdom of hell
Born a bastard not scared of shit
Sitting here with the fallen angel on my dick”
The rest of the verses will lift you out of your seat, as Delincuente stays relevant to the storytelling and doesn’t wonder off of the plot. He has his lyrics very well planned out and executed brilliantly throughout the entire song. A sense of fantastical horror is meticulously threaded into the tune as the deep, thundering sound demands a pair of decent speakers – turn up the volume and prepare to hear the windows rattle.
Whether or not you like Rap, whether or not you’re into rock and metal and whether or not you enjoy songs about violence and horror, “Hell Face” is a must-have single as it challenges the horizons of mainstream music and flirts full-throttle with a blend of contrasting styles that translates into dark head-banging rap!
