When two long-time friends, with totally opposite music tastes and backgrounds, decide making music together, the result can only be eclectic, exploding and absolutely contradictory. JUNKSISTA is the burning sonic firework resulting from the clash of two strong personalities. The sexy provocative and electro-addict Diana, and highly skilled guitarist and perfectionist studio guru Boog.
Hailing from Southern Germany, the duo offers a fresh and electric mix of catchy electro tunes, sexually explicit lyrics, sensual half-sung half-spoken female vocals, funky guitar riffs and tons of bass and synthesizer filled grooves. JUNKSISTA stands for catchy electro-cunt-rock that packs an electronic power punch to the gut.
They have recently released their debut album, BAD CASE OF FABULOUS and let me tell you that JUNKSISTA is one of the most innovative and interesting acts of today. This album showcases their musical ability. At the core this is an amazing dance record. There is not one song worth skipping. The album is filled with a creative, delicious array of tunes.
Each song has a signature unique style which defies the current generation of dance music sounds, it breaks the rules of what is standard and breaks from the mold of a genre continually littered with the exact same songs, only with different names, and for that reason alone BAD CASE OF FABULOUS is great. Add in the fact that the unique electro sound is actually shockingly addicting and excellently sung and produced and it is even better; an absolutely amazing album.
The tracks are sexual and provocative dealing in explicit lyrics and adult themes. All throughout Diana keeps the momentum going strong in her adventurous roller coaster performances. She takes a giddy, swirling, unfailingly intriguing look at all things sexual and sensual through her singular and ever-surprising mind. She is often clever, sometimes eyebrow-raising, and always entertaining.

Boog, on the other hand, rather than simply delivering a collection of chart-aimed retreads of past pop-dance hits, brilliantly channels his studio creativity and guitar skills, allowing for an album defined by eccentricity and accessibility and backed-up by strong hooks and radio friendly rhythms.
Together they have designed an album that makes a blaring, ostentatious, neon-lighted impression on the listener but ultimately leaves their exact intent up to interpretation. BAD CASE OF FABULOUS works as a cultural statement without sacrificing entertainment value.
The 80’s ethic of melodic synthesizers and slower, groove oriented rhythms is prominent on this album. The production of this album, the hooks, the lyrics, the song choices and everything else is carefully chosen and is the work of true artists. The songs that I enjoyed the most, and can’t stop pressing replay on, are: “Never Be Your Bitch”, “Don’t Know Love”, “Naked Wet Hot”, “Life Is Unfair(And Love Is A Bitch)”, “Sexpectations”, “Likeyourshoes”, “Paranoid” and “Fabulous”.
BAD CASE OF FABULOUS is full of floor smashing beats and the attention to detail throughout the album is on another level. It sounds like it could have only come from a production team that is completely meticulous. The crystal clear nature of the beats and rhythms throughout the album do complete justice to JUNKSISTA and dance music in general!
