Cantered Soul are an alternative Irish rock band hailing from Swords, in Dublin, Ireland. Most of the band went to school together so they know each other a long time. And they’ve been playing music in different bands over the years and decided to join forces to form the band Cantered Soul.
Lead-singer Sean Buckley and Banjo player Patrick O’Reilly got the ball rolling by contacting Drummer Paul Moran who brought Bass player Brian Donnelly. Finally Lead and Rhythm guitar Kev McFarlane and Stephen Gillan were swiftly added to the group, and this 6 piece alternative rock band was formed – and really they haven’t look back since.
The band was born during the Covid-19 lockdown, which gave them plenty of time to practice for their first release Red Door which sealed the band as nominees for Irish Music Month on Classic Hits FM. This entered them as part of 125-artist shortlist for a competition named ‘A New Local Hero’ by Ireland’s 25 independent radio stations. Cantered Soul had been together for just over 6 months at the time but all members of the band pack years and years of experience, and with just over a year together this psychedelic Irish Alternative rock band are destined for greatness.
Cantered Soul’s latest release brings their first music video entitled “Falling from the Sky” which has been labelled a masterpiece by those lucky to have already heard it, before it’s big official release on the 7th of May 2022. The video was directed and produced by Dublin based Director Ryan Forsyth Ireland and cinematographer Alan Dunne.
