FRESH BILLZ is an independent artist from NYC who resides in the state of Maryland. He has been rapping since the age of twelve and has toured with Fat Joe and worked with Remy Ma, among others. FRESH BILLZ is busy promoting his club banger, “Like A Stripper”. The track was the first single off his debut entitled “A Taste of Success (The Beginning)”. Lyrically and technically, FRESH BILLZ has a strong focus, telling his story with more detail and meaning than ever. We get vivid lines centered on his stripper story. When he’s not reflective, his rapping is fast and intricately patterned.

“Like A Stripper” is a hard song to critically evaluate if you put your mind on autopilot while it plays, you could easily walk away thinking one thing, but if you hyper-analyze it, you’ll almost assuredly walk away thinking something quite different.

Whether they lie between moods and lyrics, old school and new school, intelligence and tough-guy attitudes, legacy and credibility, contradictions is the defining feature of “Like A Stripper”. This is clearly a track that FRESH BILLZ has enjoyed making as he put his all into it, which you have to give him considerable credit for, and even if it’s not groundbreaking, it’s a hell of a project.

The track which also features Dollasign Dre and Mz Showface is one of the better blends of coast to coast styles you’re going to hear in this early in year. Eventually every rapper hits the point where they stop keeping up with the trends.

A time when they stop pretending to give even the slightest damn what listeners might be into, and just do their own thing. This is usually the time when the best artistic things happen. FRESH BILLZ, together with Dollasign Dre and Mz Showface let their rhymes roll with a back to basics vibe – “Shorty got a nice body, nice figure. I watch her bouncing like a stripper.”

This is what gives the track its understated and unpretentious style. The bouncing beat production by Keto is probably another high point here. So pared down to just the essentials: a deep taut bass, a few stray string stabs, and a ruthless snap of a beat, FRESH BILLZ seems reinvigorated by the familiar terrain. He moves with reptile dexterity, matching a twitchy club tempo with a springy, hooky flow.
