Seattle dance producer, Longstocking, and resident DJ at the MonkeyLoft in Seattle, is back after topping the Beatport Top 100 charts with her debut release, Pleasure Fodder, in 2020. Her rise was swift surprising many with a #1 in Deep House, #2 in Minimal Deep Tech, #3 in House and #19 for the Global Top 100.
To answer to this early success, she drops a full length album with collaborations with fellow transgender artists Hanssen, of KEXP & Jacob London, and Baby Weight, label boss of Chub Rub Music. West Coast underground label, Late Night Munchies, has been topping the Beatport charts across the board regularly as of late, so the Troupe album is highly anticipated.
Tracks from the album have already been rinsed or supported by an impressive roster: Worthy, Kevin Knapp, Tony H, Shiba San, N808, KC Wray, NiQW, Antdadope and Don Rimini to name a few. This momentum only grew with the surprise premiere of a music video for the title track, Troupe. This track is one for the dancers and it shows.
The video was shot on location in Kingston, Jamaica, with modern, reggaeton and dancehall styles of dance, which is a refreshing change much needed in House Music. Longstocking is part of growing current back to the BIPOC/Queer/Gender Queer roots of House Music. Expect to see her European break out in the near future.
