5 Fires Reveals a Rawer Side with the Single “The Darkness” as he Prepares to Perform at The Rap Arena

Canadian recording artist 5 Fires dives into the darker side of the human experience with his latest single, “The Darkness,” a melodic, hard-hitting record built around internal struggle, acceptance and the parts of ourselves we don’t always show the world.

Blending the intensity of rock with the attitude and rhythm of hip-hop, 5 Fires has developed a sound driven by powerful hooks, raw emotion and real-life experiences. “The Darkness” captures that identity through its haunting central line: “The darkness is stealing my soul, but I like it, I like it.”

The lyric represents the strange relationship people can develop with their own darkness – when something you’ve fought for so long becomes familiar enough that it almost feels like part of you.

For 5 Fires, the song arrived almost mystically. “The hook felt like something I channeled,” he explains. “I wasn’t trying to force a concept. The words and melody came to me together. Sometimes you write the song, and sometimes it feels like the song finds you.”

“The Darkness” continues the momentum of a career increasingly connecting Canada and the U.S. music industry.

5 Fires has worked with multi-platinum artist and producer Kevin Rudolf, collaborating on his debut single “Threw My Life Away.” He has also worked with established artists including Young Breed and Cash Money recording artist Onsight Deeda.

Onstage, 5 Fires has built his experience through an extensive run of performances across Western Canada while regularly traveling to the U.S. for recording and collaborations.

That momentum continues on September 4, 2026, when 5 Fires is scheduled to perform at The Rap Arena in Miami, hosted by Rick Ross and Matty Ice.

He is also building his independent label, Fire Muzik Group, while preparing his next single, “Raise It Up” featuring Messenger Muzik, and additional new music.
