Software programmer Rahm is a husband, a father, a brother and a son who was raised in the desert. He writes about existence, life, love, friendship and fatherhood. And he writes about fear, death, loneliness and desire. His music has progressive and psychedelic roots with influences that may remind you of Pink Floyd, The Beatles, Lou Reed and Leonard Cohen. His music is a result of many such ‘things’, but the desert silence is always there. The upcoming EP “Between The Lines”, to be released this year, combines powerful, syllable rock compositions with deep craters of beautiful soothing music.
Rahm has just released the EP’s lead single, entitled “You Are Not Alone”. Rahm is essentially songwriter and singer whose musical style is difficult to categorize as it contains rock, pop, jazz, blues, and classical elements all at the same time. The common denominators between all of these complex compositions, however, are simple, beautiful melodies and deep lyrics that transcend the simplicity of ordinary popular music.
Throughout Rahm’s voice is as rich as coffee, and as smooth as cream. In songs like “You Are Not Alone”, Rahm re-defines the possibilities of what music can be, what it should be…pure art and not just background filler. Though everyone will be able to enjoy his music at a basic level, the deeper, reflective souls among us will get the most of the incredibly beautiful and wistful nuances Rahm’s songs deliver.
Rahm creates music that makes us daydream, which can be sometimes soft, nostalgic and melancholic. This track is a must-have for anyone who enjoys their music on the moody, deep side. Smooth and rich, the track is an absolute gem of emotion. All the hallmarks of pleasurable organic music are present, the deep bass, the acoustic guitar picking, the gentle strings, the angelic and hypnotic background vocals, the heart wrenching lyrics, and the soaring chorus buildups, it’s all in here.
“You Are Not Alone” is a song that can be likened to a rainy day during a tropical vacation. Yes, the bittersweet melancholy in this song is tremendously touching. It makes you feel relaxed and sad at the same time; it represents the genius in Rahm’s songwriting, boasting a wonderful pop-rock eloquence that merits a listen.
The song publication on Soundcloud is released with a creative commons license – enabling other artists to use it for their creations as long as they credit Rahm for the original creation.
