Brooklyn born and Miami raised, Jamar Germain has always had his eyes on the entertainment world. He’s been performing in talent shows, bands and any open mic he could get his hands on. The youngest and only boy of 3 children, Jamar spent his early childhood in Brooklyn before moving to Miami, Florida. Though he was always surrounded by music and its culture, it was after moving to Miami, that his passion for music truly manifested. Jamar sees himself as Rnb/ Pop artist and also hopes to become a successful actor as well.
Jamar Germain is currently promoting his brand new single, “Follow Me”. If you have waited for someone of the proper caliber to bring it on, this track takes you on a journey that leaves you wanting more. The vocal arrangement fills your heart, the melody grabs your ears and you are lost – Lost in a world of smooth sensual sound. Fluttery and poignant the track is a contemporary interpretation of old school soul and contemporary R&B. It builds from the slow simmer of Jamar’s incredible falsetto to a rolling boil of sexy swagger.
Striking the right balance between what’s typical and what’s important about music has long been a quality that I’ve long sought out in R&B especially in the last couple of decades. What can one actually say about this man and his talents? Jamar Germain has a way of doing his thing, telling about it, and then admitting that it’s alright for a man to admit falling head over heels for his woman ad fantasizing about her. Lyrically, “Follow Me” is a confessional, emotional outburst that dares to open the door to listeners in the middle of an erotically thought-provoking session, trusting you to understand the story.
What perhaps is the best thing about this new music from Jamar Germain is it has reopened my eyes to the beauty, talent, and immense musicality that R&B still has to offer. When Jamar makes music, he obviously puts everything he has into it. He tends to delivers the finest music, with soulful punches that sustain a veil of `sexiness’. “Follow Me” is the sound of an artist taking the commitment to his craft and the conversation with his audience that much further. It is challenging, mature, sensual, courageous and emotionally open.
