BCrazy – “Unbroken Vision” establishes him as a name to watch!

Although eighteen-year-old creative BCrazy from Raleigh, NC has been making music for only short while, his EP “Unbroken Vision”, seems to formally establish him as a name to watch. Rapping for just on a year, and seriously making music for about 3 months, BCrazy’s crisp voice, equally comfortable rapidly rasping out hard bars, or slowing down to explore deep introspection, is paired perfectly with the production’s thick, snappy drums, wobbly basslines, and windy keys. It’s a big sound, but also smart and idiosyncratic, matching an even bigger voice.

Moving from pure freestyling to fully formed artistic diligence, BCrazy strives to spread positivity through his music. “I want people to realize that anyone can do this. When people realize that once they start working towards their endeavors without always taking consideration of others, they naturally unlock new levels that they never knew they could create,” says BCrazy.

“Unbroken Vision” is admirable in its total disinterest in chasing the sound of fame. Instead, the EP is a testament to experimentation and creativity, shifting between a smooth and smart southern sound, to cinematic sways, and gritty, grungy soundscapes.

BCrazy voice, too, morphs and changes, sometimes over the course of a single song, or even a single bar. It’s a versatile, resonant voice, sometimes with a urgent, electrical edge, and sometimes deadpan smooth. When the diverse elements of BCrazy’s sound and structure coalesce, the result is a virtuosic.

It’s immediately seen on the thrilling opener “End of the Tunnel”, which runs on skittering percussion and a momentum pushing rhythm. Things get bluesy and swampy on “Been a Drill” and then flip to cinematic on “Feel Right (Rental)”.

These diversely ambitious opening tracks certainly reflect his talent, and his consistency. As the diverse sounds mesh, it sounds both totally comfortable and inventive, like he’s writing a new code for rap, using its core elements.

BCrazy continues to embody that eclectic and forward-thinking spirit moving ahead on the relentless and melodically inclined “Temptations”, the busy and breathless slapping boom of “Fortune Tellers”, and the atmospheric groove of “Attachment (Hit or Miss)”. BCrazy’s ability to comfortably perform on each and every instrumental on this project, is an immensely impressive feat, and what ultimately ties these songs together.

BCrazy just as at home delivering densely layered and multi-syllabic verses drenched in high levels of charisma as he is channeling more deep-thinking moments. “Non Stop” proves the first hypothesis, and “Major Pain” perfectly symbolizes the latter. On top of that, his expansive songwriting ability doesn’t falter, remaining consistent throughout the EP, right up until the final track, “Guitars from Raleigh”.

Another thing worth mentioning is, besides his resonant voice and liquid flow, BCrazy’s lyrics are one of his strongest suits. He knows what he wants to say and exactly how to present it to make it as impactful as possible. His emotions and observations, are perfectly accented and emphasized.

It’s this clear and extremely well-executed focus that BCrazy has, which makes “Unbroken Vision” so impressive, especially so early in his career. BCrazy has given his music a singular aesthetic that makes him unique and exciting.
