AES is an 18 years old musician, DJ and producer from Paris, France. Since the age of 7 he started guitar before moving onto piano and then drums, all the while developing his skills in music. At 13, he picked up his first DAW, and started producing.
Today, AES has support from artists such as Absence, Danny Darko, Levi & Suiss, ESKEI 83 and Steve Omen, and has played major clubs in Paris such as VIRGO, Les Planches, and Concorde Atlantique.
AES recently released his track “We Rise” which was to commemorate the Fall of the Bastille on the 14th of July. AES said that it is also a sad reminder of the danger that faces the French people and everyone around the world today. “We should rise up in the face of inhumanity,” he says.
Having, at only 18, already spent the better part of a decade garnering experience and acclaim for his performances, AES ideals have become just as larger as his abilities — or at least where he is comfortable pushing them.
It is clear from his declaration that the single “We Rise” is massive in scope; a nod to French history and an existential quest about the future of humanity. Leveraging his talent, AES wisely deals out a sophisticated electronic affair blended with Progressive, Chillstep and Trance influences.
Noble at the jump, the resulting music moves between dark, melodic, and uplifting themes. It’s refreshing to know that there are talented young artists that stick to their style without falling prey to the masses. Anybody could come out with a track that is filled with big “drops” but they won’t stand the test of time in my opinion…this will.
Great bass lines with beautiful melodies are something AES does as good as anyone and “We Rise” is full of it. The main melody glimmers out of the haunting atmosphere until it returns back to the beginning point making this is a creative, easily accessible, and even more of an intellectual production.
AES has managed to create an electronic song that feels very much “of-the-moment” while simultaneously timeless as well – a track that is focused on melody and composition but done in a way that both casual listeners and hardcore Beatport-overanalyzes can both appreciate. Moreover he has shown the world that behind the boards, he is getting smarter and smarter, year by year!
