Edging, the dynamic punk ensemble known for their unapologetic energy and raw lyricism, is set to release their highly anticipated album, “Concrete Cumming,” on April 2nd, 2024. “Concrete Cumming” is a nine-track odyssey through the depths of the human experience, tackling themes of mental health struggles, trans and queer identities, societal collapse, misogyny, grief, and social injustice. Each track serves as a cathartic exploration of these complex topics, delivered with an unflinching honesty that is characteristic of Edging’s signature style.
The album was heralded by the release of the double a-side single, “Fuck You Sir” b/w “Sick Box,” which showcased the band’s ferocious live energy and unyielding sonic exploration. “Fuck You Sir” confronts misogynistic prejudice head-on, while “Sick Box” takes aim at a broken healthcare system with relentless guitar riffs and driving saxophone melodies.
Fronted by vocalist Faith Callaway and guitarist William Sallee, with support from saxophonist Tyler Meneese, bassist Jimi Hargraves, and drummer Adam Hatcher, Edging’s lineup is a force to be reckoned with. Drawing inspiration from 80s punk and hardcore, the band infuses their music with elements of new wave and unbridled passion, creating a sound that is uniquely their own.
Recorded in short, intense bursts with Evan Bernard in Philadelphia, PA, and Chicago, IL, “Concrete Cumming” captures the raw intensity of Edging’s live performances. Legendary engineer Howie Weinberg, known for his work with Nirvana and The Jesus Lizard, handled the mastering, ensuring that the album’s sonic impact is nothing short of explosive.
“Concrete Cumming” marks the follow-up to Edging’s acclaimed 2023 release, “Good Sex Music,” and is available for pre-order now in limited edition 12″ vinyl format. Limited edition 12” vinyl is now available here.
