Jupiter Collision: “Norway Lights” ft. Walter Mourão – of superior and consistent quality!

Currently working in São Paulo, the project Jupiter Collision is composed of Alexandre Fabbri and Gianni Petrarca. Their tracks are a mix of different styles in the electronic scene such as TechHouse, Minimal, Tropical and Traditional House Music, and are all written and produced by the duo themselves. The songs will be released through a new US music label, called Madusa Records via Spotify, Deezer, Beatport, Traxsource and Apple Music, iTunes, Juno Records, Rdio, Shazam and others. The duo’s first single in the series is “Norway Lights”, which also features the singing talents of Walter Mourão who collaborates with the duo.

Jupiter Collision’s “Norway Lights” is a rich aural tapestry that unfolds before you. With each revelation, you gain greater appreciation of both the fine details and the bigger picture. Its beauty is unrelenting.

The song is at times sweet, at times melancholy, at times energetic, at times brooding, but always ethereal floating over an infectious, dark synth bass. Introspective. Emotional. Original. This track is impeccably honest and wholly devoid of gimmicky hooks or trite lyrics.

“Norway Lights” is also a dance-floor anthem and the epitome of all that I love about electronic music – silky smooth voice, a buttery melody, evoking something that feels very personal and authentic. Alexandre Fabbri and Gianni Petrarca apparently have music in their blood and it shows.

It’s amazing how this pair can churn out a production of such superior and consistent quality compared to better known, more veteran names. Jupiter Collision’s just have it. Bar after bar, I was waiting for the dreaded missteps. About halfway through “Norway Lights”, I finally surrendered to its perfection.

It’s so hard to find new artists with such good sound development and quality lyrics, especially in the electronic genre. Indeed, throughout the song, Walter Mourão transforms the melody and words into transfixing passages of vocal power. The track with unabashed Top-40 ambitions is too emotionally involved, too kinetic and melodically memorable to discount as a simple crossover pop-dance confection.

Bold, beseeching, and replete with its airy and arresting vocals, plus its clever repetitive synth hook, “Norway Lights” is a work of unimpeachable electronic craftsmanship by Jupiter Collision, who has concocted a track of marked consistency, one that commands attention from its first wail to its last syllable.
