The single and supporting video, ‘Born 2 Love You’, is the latest entry in DEEPSYSTEM’s prolific music catalog. Since the age of sixteen, the artist has been releasing music that has garnered millions of YouTube viewers, awarded him special guest appearances at various events an afforded him collaborations with a slew of artists. The song was produced by Andrei Murariu, the music and lyrics were created by Andrei Socoliuc and the music video filmed and edited by Andrei Lesan of RedconPictures. The AAA trio also collaborated on DEEPSYSTEM’s previous tracks: ‘I Need You’ & ‘The Sin of Life’.
DEEPSYSTEM’s music has always emphasized the production, and while this new track is typically lush, it also reveals him to be a pop singer and the AAA trio a songwriting team of endearing plain-spokenness, capturing the intense introspection and poignant emotion of romance.
Together they also understand the music from many different angles, realizing, that to get everyone in a club, arena, or car, to experience the same musical high at the same moment, you need a few, staunch and steadfast ideas. The song needs to be clear about where listeners should focus attention, when they should focus it, and, most importantly, why they should focus at all.
So, musically and lyrically, DEEPSYSTEM’s songs have become less cluttered and more open-ended. Working in a genre satirized for being big, loud, and brassy, DEEPSYSTEM’s music moves toward temperance and a temperamental evenness, rarely tilting toward an over-extreme of volume, timbre, or pacing.
It is almost hypnotic, a minimalism of ideas that influence this arrangement and aesthetic. ‘Born 2 Love You’ tends to orbit around a catchy vocal and instrumental hook, cycled and repeated with a laconic authority. For three and a half minutes DEEPSYSTEM brings this philosophy toward its simplest and most elegant expression.
Here DEEPSYSTEM fleshes out the song’s melodic and percussive character, and in its final form, like many great pop songs, ‘Born 2 Love You’ does not communicate a full narrative, but rather a perspective, the outline of one.
The lyrics allude to both an ode and a plea from the narrator to his lover : “You take my breath away / You’re driving me insane / But everything you do / Brings me closer to you”, or “Cause I can tell that you need me and I’m depending on your love / So keep me forever and ever in your soul.” DEEPSYSTEM’s performance is timbral and emotional, translucent enough to fit perfectly into narrative interpretations.
DEEPSYSTEM is an artist who rarely under-delivers and here he and his production crew gives us another taste of something unquestionably exceptional that can be considered a complete success.
