Our favorite Viral Prankster, Michael Trujillo, also known as Orchata Papi, attends Grammy’s, Emmy’s, and Golden Globes. We chat about his introduction into the music industry.

Thanks for sitting down with us Michael! Let’s get right into it! You had your humble beginnings posting funny videos online but now you’ve famously been photographed with celebrities like Jennifer Lopez, Kevin Hart, The Weeknd, Salma Hayek and more at fun awards shows! And now you’ve recently started a music career featuring on a Latin pop single with artist, and your sister,  Kristine Mirelle.

What made you want to get into music?

          You know to evolve as a person, you always have to try new things and get out of your comfort zone. I felt like the love for music I have and some creativeness made me want to try it out and see where it went.

We saw that “Hasta El Final”, your single, was created with your own sister. How did you guys decide to do a song together? 

          Well she sent me a rough draft of it, I fell in love with the track and I just literally was like hey let me write some lyrics down and let me know what you think and she loved it.

Was it the first one you’d ever released?

               Yes first single and music video actually. Very impressed. It’s different seeing the whole process of how everything goes through

What artist do you admire the most and why?

              The Weeknd. He has such an inspirational story of how he started and where he is at now. Truly my favorite artist to date.

Back to your comedy skits, What’s been the biggest viewed video you’ve ever had that has gone viral? 

              My viral video is the Homeless guy with the credit card reader. It has 4 million views to date which we labeled the video “The Homeless Hustler.” It was so crazy of how fast it sky rocketed with views. It really showed me how far the internet can make something go around the world in a matter of seconds.

What do you hope to accomplish in the next 5 years?

            Music mostly, stability, and just enjoying life with my family in the years to come.

Do you have any other skills or hobbies besides singing?

           I love gaming, going to the movies, traveling, ice skating. Basically, anything that sounds fun.
