The track moves through dynamic passages, intense dance-floor rave movements, and deeply textured trance soundscapes that will leave the listener on the edge of his or her comfy chair.
There’s a palpable sense of something-explosive’s-coming, whether it ultimately shows up is wholly beside the point. As is so often the case with engaging experiences, it’s the journey not the destination. A modern epic dance aesthetic is at work here.
For those few still unfamiliar with the producer – Lord Conrad is a multi-talented artist, DJ, Songwriter, Dancer, Model and Producer from Milan (Italy). He has a string of EDM/Pop music tunes under his belt, including “Touch the Sky”, “Day After Day”, “1 Minute” and “Fight Till The End”, and many more.
Lord Conrad has long made a virtue out of following his own path. Something he again repeats on “Forever Mirin”, where he never retreads old ground. This soundtrack is a barrage of synth samples, sounds and effects, overlaid on a danceable beat that, despite its almost wistful eclecticism, merges seamlessly into a mesmerizing whole.
The elements percolate in and out of the mix in typical Lord Conrad style, while the drums pummel themselves into the grinding basslines. From the start, the song simmers and boils into a mind-melting, trance-inducing dancefloor burner.
“Forever Mirin” unfurls at a deadly pace, with elements coalescing out of the void, building up a head of steam. This record is clearly the work of a more seasoned creative. The wide-eyed naivety that helped to make Lord Conrad’s earlier works such a joy is tempered with experience and a more cutting edge sonic palette.
Those who have been familiar with the Italian producer’s previous adventures will find the construction and mood of “Forever Mirin” welcomingly familiar, yet intriguingly different. This is in essence, a compelling, hugely imaginative and strangely addictive record, regardless of the pounding beat and massive synth sounds.
Lord Conrad offers pure abstract indulgence as pulsing spring reverb, a melting synth line and a smacking percussion propel listeners through a dark and anxious futuristic world.
One of the most focused entries in Lord Conrad’s storied discography, “Forever Mirin” is a delightfully wide angled glance at what the producer is currently brewing, and perhaps a projection of a vital new period of experimentation he has planned. This track demands to be experienced at full blast in a club setting.
