Vasculair: “Us” – the simple layering of background, rhythm and lead melody is truly inspiring

Songs, words, feelings, stories, and the journey, being told from a bedroom: “Everything is written, recorded, and mixed all out of this room,” says Vasculair, an Indie/Electronic/Pop artist out of Orlando,FL. Haunting and surreal, Vasculair evokes ethereal spirits of longing and desire in an introspective sadness with the methodic, almost hypnotic collection of songs on the EP “Us”.

All the songs flow together and are hauntingly beautiful with simple instrumentation. Vasculair is so talented that he does not need to prove anything to anybody with loads of flashy electronic extras. There are a few ups and extras but mostly Vasculair’s gorgeous voice with beautifully accompanying instruments dominated by the piano that will take you away and make you feel calm and dreamy!

The simple layering of background, rhythm and lead melody is truly inspiring on several of the tracks and demonstrate the quality of musicianship possessed. Like most good things in life, “Us” is something that you may not fall head over heels in love with at first, but over time, the more chances you give it, the more you will see the inner beauty of these songs.

I been listening “Us” for about 4 days and it is so melodic, soothing, brave, honest and inspiring. Yes, inspiring! Songs like “Hold Me Now”, “Undone” and “All Back Down”, were like lullabies to my ears, ringing consolatory to my heart and soul. They’re simple, direct, a little melancholy but somehow optimistic in spirit. One of the reasons I like this music is that I’m always in search of authenticity, especially in songwriting, and I thought this EP has the goods. It’s not cheesy, teensy over-simplified, or incredibly lush, like most of the radio orientated stuff, and most importantly, I think the underlying message about the redemptive power of love is striking and true.

Vasculair is capable of dynamic storytelling and poetry in his songs, and the lyrics shine though in this collection. He can take a topic, whether sad or happy, pensive or fleeting, and make you feel the energy, depth and beauty of it. Something about it just made me instantly love it.  I find that after listening to these pieces several times, they just keep getting more and more enjoyable, the way it is with finely-crafted art of any kind.  “Us” is for days when your soul needs to know there’s someone else out there who feels the same, and it’s for nights when you can’t sleep. Just put it on!
