Unlike countless artists in the United States Reinhard Tesch’s career began behind the iron curtain of Berlin, Germany. He grew up and was raised in a country where all public venues and exhibitions of art, music and culture were subject to censorship. Before a song could be published, played, or performed, it had to be submitted to censors for review.
While he developed his guitar skills and his musicianship his vision drifted beyond Germany’s walls and Berlin’s Checkpoint Charlie.
His life changed when his grandma sent him a package with a Fender Stratocaster from West Berlin. Reinhard wrote songs that were produced in East German Radio and TV stations and became popular with the “Metropol Rock Band” and “Reinhard Tesch & Co”. He proved to be one of East Germany’s crafty song writers, and you could hear his songs in the charts and on TV shows all over the German speaking market. “Und ich sehn’ mich nacht dir” (And I’m longing for you) is still successful published on many labels.
After the fall of the wall Reinhard made one of his dreams come true. He was always curious what life would be like across the ocean. In 1992 he moved to the United States. He started to write music for young artists such as the Orlando vocal group “Girl Zone” and later joined the band “Going on Tuesday”. Reinhard quote: “Performing live again gave me back my energy and courage to go back into a studio and finish my long intended album”. “Back in Town” is Reinhard’s latest collection of songs showcasing his works from past decades until today. The album transverses his life experiences, dreams, travel, love, his passion for Rock’n Roll, and people he misses (Better Days Ahead). He describes it himself as a journey between two worlds.
At the end of December 2012 our staff will choose the JAMSPHERE “VIDEO OF THE YEAR” from the 3 videos with the highest number of “Thumbs Up” voting from our readers.
