Wolf Colony is an electro-pop music duo based out of Miami and New York City. Comprising of singer-songwriter seventhleopard and music producer Neal Sarin, the duo began collaborating together in college at the University of Miami with no intention of having their music reach the masses.
After an intensive week of recording sessions in New York City, it was clear that Wolf Colony was far greater than the sum of its parts. The concoction of powerful vocals and lyrical depth, complementing unique and engaging soundscapes simply could not be ignored.
If you want something very smooth, intense, electronic, and maybe pop with some cool retro vibes, Wolf Colony is for you. What I enjoy most about them and their two debut singles, is that it is unlike anything on the radio today. They are not trying to follow any popular music trends, as they clearly know what genre of music fits them best. Their music just flows naturally between retro 80’s synths, clean minimalistic arrangements and soulful melodies.

The singles “Beauty” and “Calling”, released through iTunes and Spotify and other major digital download stores, were written and produced by members seventhleopard and Neal Sarin. The songs deliver an electrifying experience of understated, rhythmic, electronic-pop produced by Sarin and fronted by seventhleopard’s beautiful bittersweet vocals. The duo seems to be seriously working toward bridging the gap between mainstream pop and the classic cult, electronic sound.
After a listen or two the catchy rhythm and beats will be stuck in your head and you’ll find yourself humming the music to yourself. There can be no doubt that lead singer, seventhleopard’s voice, is nothing short of hypnotic, drifting from ethereal, to velvet smooth, to capitalizing on the deep moody tones he can range. This will undoubtedly prove to be a very strong calling card for the duo, as they move their careers ahead.
Wolf Colony blend the best of the Human League, OMD, and Depeche Mode’s cheekiness, without being obstreperous and loud. The power of their sound is bridled, contained, and always simmering under the melodies.
Call this pop or electro or even synth-pop, it doesn’t matter, as it’s just great music that will keep you company while looking forward to the release of Wolf Colony’s full album release coming soon.
